Here is a spectacular specimen of Lycoptera sp. from the Jurassic of China. This fish exhibits excellent detail - the bone structure is well defined and the fins are beautifully displayed. The dark orangish color of the fish is totally natural and contrasts wonderfully with the tannish-gray matrix. The fossil is well positioned on the plate of shale. This is a very colorful specimen of Lycoptera from China.
