Here is a collectible fossil fish. It is a very pretty example of Amphiplaga bracyptera from the Eocene of Wyoming. This is a scarce fish from the Green River Shale - only a handful of this species are found each year. This fossil fish exhibits incredible detail - the bone structure is superb. The fins are beautifully displayed, and the eye socket is easily seen. The fossil has wonderful color and contrast and is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is an excellent specimen of this highly uncommon fossil fish from the Eocene.
