This is a very appealing specimen of Diplomystus dentatus from the Eocene of Wyoming. The specimen is very nicely articulated and exhibits fine detail. The bone structure is beautifully defined and the fin detail is excellent. The eye socket is quite evident and the upturned mouth is easily seen. The fossil has wonderful, dark color and contrasts well with the cream-colored matrix. The fish is nicely centered on the rectangular plate. This is a very pretty specimen of Diplomystus from the Green River Formation.
