This is simply one of the best fossil fish we have ever had. It is a HUGE Priscacara serrata from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This type is very sought-after because of its recognizable look - similar to a modern-day Bluegill or Crappie. The fins on this specimen display incredibly well. The fine bone structure is very detailed, and the color and contrast are simply striking. This freakishly-large fish was preserved with the mouth open and the eye socket easily seen - what more could you ask for? If you said it could be perfectly centered on a 12" X 16" rectangular matrix plate, you would be correct! This is an amazing specimen of this classic fossil fish - it is worthy of any private collection or museum display. Don't let this one be ''the one that got away!''
