This is a HUGE example of Mioplosus labracoides from the Eocene of Wyoming. This very large predatory fish exhibits fabulous bone structure and even some scale pattern (rare). The mouth displays dozens of tiny teeth beautifully. The orange-brown fossil contrasts strikingly with the cream-colored matrix. The distinct fish is wonderfully showcased on the semi-rectangular plate of shale. This is a top quality example of a freakin' huge (OVER A FOOT LONG!) predatory Mioplosus fish.
