This is a beautiful specimen of Priscacara serrata from the Eocene of Wyoming. The large fossil fish has natural black-brown color that contrasts beautifully with the tan-colored matrix. The fish has great bone structure and extremely fine fin detail - the dorasl fin is spectacular, and even the backbone is fully defined. The fish is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of matrix that has been professionally framed for optimal display. This is a wonderful framed example of this classic fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
