This is a fine specimen of a juvenile Diplomystus dentatus from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This fish exhibits great detail - the bone structure of the fish is beautifully displayed, and the fins and tail are easily seen. The NATURAL, orange-brown color of the fish contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The tiny fossil herring is well showcased on the trimmed plate of shale. This is a very fine juvenile fossil fish from Wyoming.
