This is a very detailed fossil fish. It is a fabulous Mioplosus labracoides from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This predatory type is very sought-after because of its bold look and teeth preserved in the mouth. This fossil was extracted under a microscope to reveal the extremely fine detail. This beautiful specimen is quite large (over eight inches long!) and has excellent detail preserved. The bone structure is easily seen, and the scale pattern is even preserved. The eye socket is quite evident, and some of the teeth are even intact. This is a large, impressive predatory fossil fish that is even more beautiful in person!
