This is a nice plate of fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. There are three colorful Knightia eocaena on the plate. All of the fish exhibit wonderful detail. The bone structure is beautifully displayed and the fins are easily seen. The orangish-brown color of the fossils is totally natural, and the contrast with the cream-colored matrix is outstanding. The fish are naturally positioned on the large plate of shale. This is a fine display plate of three fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
