Here is a very displayable fossil fish. This is a large Diplomystus dentatus from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This fish exhibits very fine detail - the bone structure and fins are beautifully displayed and the eye socket is easily seen. The fossil fish has excellent orangish-brown color that contrasts wonderfully with the cream-colored matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate. This is an extremely aesthetic example of Diplomystus dentatus that would look terrific in home or office.
