This is a very large specimen of Lycoptera davidi from the Jurassic of China. This fossil fish has very good detail - the bone structure of the fish is clearly defined, and the large teeth are easily seen. The natural color of the fossil contrasts beautifully with the tannish-grey matrix. The distinct fish has great form and is well presented on the large, natural plate of shale. This is the largest example of Lycoptera davidi we have ever had.
