This is a very large fossil fish. It is a huge Phareodus fossil fish from Wyoming. Phareodus was a predatory fish, with a mouth full of sharp teeth. This specimen showcases these teeth beautifully. The fish is very well preserved and displays extremely fine detail. The fins and tail are quite cool, and the bone structure and scale pattern are easily seen. The massive fish is well displayed on the large matrix plate. And, remember, this fish is 14 inches long - WOW! This is a very impressive predatory Phareodus from the Green River Formation.
