This is a large specimen of Priscacara serrata from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fossil fish has great orange color and contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The fish has great bone structure and excellent fin detail, especially on the large dorsal fin. The fish is well showcased on the large, natural plate of matrix (there is a natural fault in the rock that is slightly displaced.). This is a very displayable example of this classic fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
