This is a very cool fossil. It is a male Stingray from Wyoming. The type of Stingray is Heliobatis radians, one of the most sought-after fossils found in the Green River Formation. This particular specimen is a male, as it still has the mating graspers preserved. The Stingray has great color and striking detail, and it contrasts beautifully with the buff-colored matrix. The Ray is very well centered on the natural-edged matrix plate. There are also two complete fossil fish (Knightia) preserved on the slab. This is a stunning display example of a rare Stingray fossil that can not only be be part of your fossil collection, but also proudly displayed in your home or office!
