This is a very aesthetic fossil fish plate from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fish on the right is an excellent specimen of Diplomystus dentatus. The fish on the left is a nice specimen of Knightia eocaena. Both fish exhibit wonderful detail. The bone structure and fins are nicely displayed. The fossils have great color and contrast nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The fish are well showcased on the large plate of shale, swimming in different directions. This is a beautiful specimen of two different fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
