This is a very aesthetic fossil fish plate from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fish at the top is an excellent specimen of Knightia eocaena. The fish on the bottom is a very nice specimen of Mioplosus labracoides, a predatory fish. Both fish exhibit wonderful detail - the bone structure and fins are nicely displayed. The fossils have great color and contrast nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The fish are well showcased on the rectangular plate of shale. This is an excellent specimen of two different fossil fish from the Green River Formation.
