This is a very nice fossil fish plate from the Eocene of Wyoming. The fish on the left is an excellent specimen of Diplomystus dentatus. The two fish on the right are nice specimens of Knightia eocaena. All three fish exhibit wonderful detail. The bone structure and fins are nicely displayed. The fossils have great color and contrast nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The fish are well showcased on the large, rectangular plate of shale. This is an excellent specimen of three fish of two different types from the Green River Formation. (Note: The black line running down the plate is a shadow, not a crack.)
