This is an excellent fossil fish. It is a large Priscacara liops from the Eocene of Wyoming. This ''sunfish-type'' is one of the most sought-after fish from the Green River Formation. This specimen is from the harder ''18 inch layer'' and is beautifully preserved. The bone structure is well defined, and the fins are wonderfully displayed. Even the sharp spines of the dorsal fin are all intact and make for a striking display. The fossil has outstanding color and contrast and is nicely presented on the semi-rectangular plate of unbroken matrix. This is a very aesthetic specimen of Priscacara liops from the Green River Formation.
