This is a very nice, complete example of juvenile Mioplosus labracoides from the Eocene of Wyoming. This uncommon fish exhibits distinct bone structure - the backbone and skull are very easily seen. The brown fossil contrasts nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The tiny fish is wonderfully showcased on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a fabulous specimen of this baby predatory fish from the Green River Shale.
