Here is a special specimen of a rare fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. This is a split pair Eohiodon falcatus from the Green River Formation. This uncommon predatory fish exhibits wonderful detail. The eye socket is clearly defined, the bone structure is superb, and the teeth in the mouth are easily seen. The fish has excellent orangish and brown color and contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The fossil is well displayed on both plates of shale. This is a highly collectible part/counterpart specimen of this rare predatory fossil fish.
