This is a fine example of Mioplosus labracoides from the Eocene of Wyoming. This very large fish exhibits nice bone structure, and the orange-brown fossil contrasts nicely with the cream-colored matrix. The complete fish is beautifully showcased on the semi-oval plate of shale. This is a very large specimen (almost NINE inches!) of this uncommon predatory fish from the Green River Shale.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
