This is a large fossil fish. It is a fine Diplomystus from Kemmerer, Wyoming. This fossil was found in the ''18 Inch Layer'', a layer where the fossils have good detail and great dark color. The fossils need to be extracted under a microscope with an air scribe or grinder to reveal all the detail. This fish specimen has good detail - the bones are very easily seen. And the fish is well centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very cheap Diplomystus dentatus from the ''18 Inch Layer'' of the Green River Formation.
