This is a rare juvenile specimen of Phareodus testis from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fish is nicely centered on the large plate of shale. The fossil fish has good color and contrasts well with the matrix. The fossil exhibits great detail - the bone structure is nicely preserved, and the distinct teeth are easily seen in the mouth. This is a fine juvenile example of Phareodus from the Green River Formation.
