This is a distinct specimen of Diplomystus dentatus from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This fish is colorful and exhibits great detail. The bone structure of the fish is beautifully displayed, and the tail is easily seen. The eye socket is clearly defined, and the upturned mouth adds a certain charm. The brown color of the fish contrasts wonderfully with the orange-yellow-colored matrix. This is a very detailed fossil fish from Wyoming.
