This is an excellent Cretaceous fossil from Lebanon. It is a plate with two fish, Pattersonicthys and Pharmacycthys, preserved. Due to political unrest, fossils from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. The exotic-looking Pharmacycthys is very well preserved and exhibits great detail. The head, fins, and tail of the fish are clearly defined. The Pattersonicthys, too, is nicely showcased. The fossils have great color are wonderfully spaced on the rectangular plate of sublithographic limestone. This is an extremely unusual example of these two rare fossil fish from the Middle East.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
