This is an extremely prolific multiple plate of Knightia eocaena from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. We counted 26 fish, but that may be a conservative estimate. It is interesting that all the fossil fish are the same type and are all generally the same size. The fossils exhibit fine detail - the eye sockets are easily seen, and the bone structure of the fish is quite evident. The fins and tails are also nicely intact. The fossils have excellent color and contrast and are artistically, but naturally, scattered about the large matrix plate. This is a very rare grouping of at least twenty-six fossil fish on one plate.
