This is a nice double specimen of Lycoptera sp. from the Early Cretaceous of China. These fossil fish have good detail - the bone structure of the fish is clearly defined. The natural, dark-brown color of the fossils contrasts beautifully with the light tannish-grey matrix. The fish have great form and are well presented on the large, natural plate of shale that also contains part of a third fish. This is a fine pair of fossil fish from the Time of the Dinosaurs.
