Here is an unusual fossil fish. This is Jianghanicthys hubeiensis from the Eocene of China. This fossil fish is well preserved and exhibits great detail. The bone structure is clearly defined, and the fins and tail are nicely displayed. The dark brown fossil contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The large fish is nicely centered on the rectangular plate. This is a fine example of Jianghanicthys from China.
