This is an excellent Cretaceous fossil from Lebanon. It is a plate with a Carpopenaeus (Shrimp) and a large fish preserved. Due to political unrest, fossils from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. The shrimp is very well preserved and exhibits great detail. The head, segmented body, and tail of the crustacean are clearly defined. The fish, too, is nicely showcased. The fossils have great color are wonderfully spaced on the rectangular plate of sublithographic limestone. This is an extremely displayable example of this rare fossil association from the Middle East.
