This is a very displayable fossil fish. It is a large Knightia eocaena from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. The fossil fish is extremely well preserved and exhibits wonderful detail. The eye socket is easily seen, the fins are well defined, and the tail is quite evident. This fish has great orange coloration that contrasts nicely with the cream-colored rock. The fossil is well centered on the semi-rectangular matrix plate. This is a beautiful example of a fossil fish from the Eocene.
