This is one of the most unique fossil fish we have ever had. It is a complete Coccodus from the Cretaceous layers of Lebanon. Political unrest in Lebanon has made fossil collecting difficult, and very few specimens will be exported in the next few years. This unusual fossil fish has fine detail. The fluke-like fins beautifully preserved - even the reticulated surface is intact. The skull, with its unique crusher teeth, is easily seen. The fish is well showcased on the rectangular plate of limestone. This is a very exciting find, and one of the most distinct fossil fish we have had from Lebanon.
