This is a gorgeous double fish plate from the Green River Shale. The fish at the top of the plate is fabulous Diplomystus dentatus. This fish has excellent detail preserved - the fins and tail are easily seen, and the bone structure is quite distinct. The large fish at the bottom of the slab is Mioplosus labracoides. This fish is very long (over 10 inches long!) and the many teeth in the mouth are quite noticable. Both fish have wonderful color and superb contrast. The fish display beautifully on the large, squared slab of shale. This is an extremely aesthetic display plate of two different fossil fish from Wyoming.
