This is a very unique specimen of Armigatus brevissimus from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, fossils from this area are getting harder to obtain. There are two fossil fish on the slab - both fish are well preserved and exhibit great detail. The bone structure is clearly defined, and the tails are easily seen. But the unusual feature of this fossil is that both fish were fossilized one on top of the other, almost forming an ''X''. It is quite unusual to have two fossil fish laying on top of each other like this. The fossils have very good color and contrast and are beautifully centered on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very interesting plate of two fossil fish doing the tango.
