This is a rare fossil fish from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, fossils from this site are becoming increasingly harder to obtain. In the center of the plate is a very fine example of a rare Macristium chavesi, a unique flying fish. This fish has nice natural color and fine detail preserved. The fish displays wonderfully right in the middle of the squared limestone plate. This is a very good example of one the most unusual fossil fish from this location.
