This is a very displayable fossil fish. It is an exotic Aipichthys velifer from Lebanon. Fossils from this area are very hard to obtain because of recent political unrest. This type is an unusual type, looking like a modern-day Angelfish. The specimen has great color and detail (slight enhancement for contrast). The fish is well showcased on the semi-squared matrix plate. This is a wonderful fossil salt water fish.
