This is simply a fabulous fossil fish. It is a large Priscacara liops from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This type is very sought-after because of its recognizable look - similar to a modern-day Bluegill or Crappie. The fins on this specimen display incredibly well. The fine bone structure is very detailed, and the color and contrast are simply striking. This beautiful fish is easily seen on the rock - what more could you ask for? If you said it could be perfectly centered on an 8" X 10" rectangular matrix plate, you would be correct! This is an amazing specimen of this classic fossil fish - it is worthy of any private collection or museum display. Don't let this one be ''the one that got away!''
