Here is a special plate of fossils from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, fossils from this site are becoming increasingly harder to obtain. In the center of the plate is a very fine example of a rare Macristium chavesi, a unique flying fish. This fish has good color and detail (some enhancement for contrast). This is one of the most unusual fossil fish from this location. A very strange, unidentified crustacean lies to the right of the Macristium. On the left side of the slab of limestone is another fish. This unidentified fish has great color and exhibits wonderful bone structure. The fossils are well presented on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is an extremely appealing plate of fossils from the Cretaceous Seas.
