Here is an extremely rare fossil fish from the Parachute Creek Member of the Green River Formation. This fish was discovered at the famous fossil plant locality near Bonanza, Utah - very few fish have ever been found at this site. We are unsure of the exact identification, but it doesn't look like any of the more famous Green River fish. The backbone of the fish is beautifully preserved, and the huge eye of the fish is easily seen. The fossil has nice color and contrast and is well presented on the squared plate of shale. This is a very fine specimen of this highly unusual fish from Utah.
