This is a very collectible fossil fish. It is a very large unidentified fish from Lebanon. This specimen came to us in an old collection, unprepared, and we just now prepared it. The fish is in the same family as Gyrodus, and could be Gyrodus, but we can't be sure. This fish is very large - over 10 inches long and seven inches tall! The fish has very nice detail - even many of the crusher teeth are preserved. The fish is nicely centered on the rectangular matrix block that also contains another fish, tiny in comparison. This is a great example of one of the larger and more exotic fossil fish from this locality.
