This is a wonderfully presented fossil fish. It is a large Priscacara serrata from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This type is very sought-after because of its recognizable look - similar to a modern-day Bluegill or Crappie. This specimen exhibits excellent bone structure, and the fins are exquisitely displayed. The long, sharp spikes of the large dorsal fin are all intact and easily seen. The fossil has beautiful dark color and striking contrast, and is aesthetically centered on the LARGE, unbroken, plate of shale. This is a very displayable example of this collectible fish from the famous Fossil Lake deposits - perfect for framing. NOTE - THIS FISH HAS BEEN FRAMED AND IS NOW AVAILABLE IN ITS CUSTOM WOOD FRAME - SORRY, NO PHOTO AVAILABLE OF THE FRAME.
