This is an unusual fossil fish from the Middle Cretaceous seas. It is a large, unidentified fish from Lebanon. This specimen was acquired from an old collection with no identification provided, and it is not a species that we have seen before. The fish is complete, with very nice overall detail. The very fine bone structure is even preserved. The large fish (eight inches long!) is beautifully displayed on the rectangular plate of sublithographic limestone. This is an excellent example of a type of fossil fish from Lebanon that we have not seen before.
