This is a very detailed specimen of Lycoptera sp. from the Jurassic of China. This complete fish exhibits the bone structure in wonderful fashion, and the fins are clearly defined. The large eye of the fish is easily seen, and the open mouth adds a certain charm. The fossil fish has good color and contrast and is well presented on the natural plate of matrix that also contains another partial fish. This is an excellent example of Lycoptera from the Jurassic.
