This is a wonderful fossil fish from the Jurassic of China. This is the first specimen of this type of fish that we have seen. This torpedo-shaped fish has a huge head and two large fins positioned near the wide tail. The fish is well articulated and exhibits great detail. The bone structure is clearly defined, and the fins are easily seen. Even the scale pattern of the fish is evident. The fish has beautiful color and contrast and is well centered on the natural, unboken plate of shale that contains another partial fish. As an added bonus, many Mayfly larva, Heptagenia, are on the reverse side of the slab. This is an excellent specimen of this unusual fish from the time of the dinosaurs.
