This is a fine specimen of Lycoptera sp. from the Jurassic of China. This fish has very good detail - the head of the fish is exquisitely preserved with the mouth slightly open. The vertebrae of the fish are clearly defined, and the forked tail is easily seen. This fish has great color and contrast and is well presented on the large (5.5'' X 8.0''), natural plate of matrix. This is a very nice example of this Jurassic fish from China.
