Here is a very nice fossil fish. This is Jianghanicthys hubeiensis from the Eocene of China. This fish exhibits great detail. The bone structure is clearly defined and the fins are nicely displayed. Even the scale pattern of the fossil fish is easily seen. The dark brown fossil contrasts well with the multi-colored matrix. The fish is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate. This is a fine example of this type of fish from China.
