This is a beautiful fossil fish from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone. This is a specimen of Anaethalion angustus. This unusual species of fish is extremely well articulated. The vertebrae are all in place and very 3-dimensional. It displays very fine bone structure. The fins of the fish are very nicely preserved. The specimen has been cleaned by hand with fine needles. The fish has good color and fine contrast. The fossil is well positioned on a large slab of lithographic limestone. There are some dendrites on the slab for added appeal. This is a very displayable specimen of this unusual fish from a classic location.
