This is a fabulous specimen of Aipichthys minor from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, specimens from this site are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. This specimen has no restoration or enhancement, which is very unusual for this location. The fossil fish is very "tropical" in appearance. It exhibits very fine detail. The bone structure is superb. The fins are quite evident. The eye socket is very distinct. The fossil has excellent color and contrast. It is well positioned on a semi-squared slab of limestone. This is a beautiful example of this exotic fossil fish from Lebanon.
