This is an unusual fossil fish. It is a large Nematonotus from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. The striking feature of this fish is its long dorsal fin spine. Very few fish in the fossil record had dorsal fin spines this long. The preservation of this fish is excellent. This is a great example of this weird fossil fish.
