This is a very pretty plate of fossil fish from the Eocene of Wyoming. At the top of the plate is an excellent Diplomystus dentatus. There are two nice specimens of Knightia humilis below the Diplomystus. All of the fish exhibit wonderful detail. The bone structure is beautifully displayed and the fins are easily seen. The orangish-brown color of the fossils is totally natural, and the contrast with the cream-colored matrix is outstanding. The fish are nicely positioned on the somewhat rectangular plate of shale. This is a ''showy'' plate of two different fish from the Green River Formation.
