This is a very collectible Ptychodont fish. It is a Neoproscinetes sp. from the Cretaceous of Brazil. This specimen is huge - well over a foot long! The fish was fossilized in a concretion, which preserves detail very well, but takes HOURS to extract. This specimen is very inflated and is 3-dimentional in the concretion. This is a very well-prepared and beautifully preserved fossil fish from South America.
